Alano controls access at the field level, not only the record level. View and edit rights are set per field per group, visibility restrictions cascade from epics and sprints to their linked deals and tasks, and deals can require manager approval before they are marked won.
What it does
- Field-level view and edit rights: For each field on Customers, Contacts, Deals and Tasks, choose which groups can see it and which can change it. The two are independent — a group can view without editing.
- Lock behaviour: Each field declares what happens when a record is locked — respect the lock, or stay editable regardless — so a won deal can freeze commercial fields while notes stay open.
- Object and record visibility: Custom objects can be limited to specific groups or hidden from non-admins entirely. Deals can be scoped to a visibility group owner.
- Restrictions that cascade: Set visibility on an epic or a sprint and every linked deal and task inherits it. A record linked to both inherits the combined restrictions, so nobody configures access record by record.
- Manager review on won deals: Require manager or admin approval before a deal is finalised as won. Team members see that confirmation is pending, and approvers work from a dedicated review queue.

Common questions
Can I hide a single field from some people?
Yes. View and edit permissions are configured per field on Customers, Contacts, Deals and Tasks, and are set by user group. The two permissions are independent, so a group can be allowed to see a field without being able to change it.
How do I stop deals being marked won without oversight?
Enable Manager Review under Deal Workflow. Team members can move a deal to Won, but it is not finalised until a manager or admin approves it from the Review Won Deals queue.
Do I have to set visibility on every deal and task?
No. Restrictions set on an epic or sprint cascade automatically to all linked deals and tasks, and a record belonging to both inherits the combined set.
