Alanotes is a block editor built into Alano CRM. Paste a CRM link and it becomes a live record card, edit alongside your team with their cursors on screen, and push a finished note back into a deal as a comment. It also runs on its own at alanotes.com.
What it does
- Write in blocks, not in a text box: Type / for headings, lists, checkboxes, tables, code blocks, quotes and rules. Headings fold away section by section and remember what you collapsed. Markdown works if you prefer typing it — bold, highlight, coloured text by name or hex — and shortcuts like -> convert as you go.
- Diagrams, columns and embeds: Mermaid diagrams render as you type them. A two-column block puts a comparison side by side and stacks it on mobile. Embed YouTube, Loom, Figma or a Google Doc at any aspect ratio. Drag in images and files, and print the whole thing to PDF with diagrams pre-rendered.
- Paste a CRM link, get a record card: Paste the URL of a customer, contact, deal, task, note or resource and Alanotes turns it into a rich link carrying that record's name and icon — click it and you land on the record. The note stops being a loose document and becomes part of the account history.
- Edit together, with cursors: Give a teammate edit access and you both work in the same note, with their avatar and live cursor on screen. Saving is automatic — Saving, Saved, Autosaved. Inline comments open threads on a specific passage, and @mentions inside them notify the person named.
- AI editing that keeps your voice: Select a passage and choose Grammar Fix, Polish, or Rewrite in My Style. Set your style profile once and the rewrite matches how you actually write rather than flattening it. Every change is shown for Accept or Revert before it lands.
- Share it, or push it into a deal: Set view and edit access per user and per group, or open a note to the whole organisation. Share links come with a QR code. Share as Comment posts the note into a deal, customer, contact or task, and Open in Sidebar pins it beside whatever you are working on.

Common questions
Can two people edit the same note at once?
Yes. Anyone with edit access sees the others' avatars and live cursors, and edits merge as they are typed. Saving is automatic, with Saving, Saved and Autosaved states shown in the header.
How does a note connect to a CRM record?
Paste any Alano URL for a customer, contact, deal, task, note or resource into the editor and it converts into a rich entity link with that record's name and icon. In the other direction, Share as Comment posts the note into the record as a comment or status update.
Do I have to start from a blank page?
No. The gallery covers Sales, Customer Success, Meetings, Strategy, Documentation, Productivity, Project Management, Personal and Other. If you have more than 50 characters on your clipboard when you create a note, Alanotes offers to start from that instead.
Can I get a note out of Alano?
Print to PDF from the toolbar. Mermaid diagrams are rendered to SVG first and two-column layouts are preserved, so the printed page matches what is on screen.
Do I need the full CRM to use Alanotes?
No. alanotes.com runs the editor on its own domain with the same account and organisation. The CRM linking simply has nothing to link to until you start using the rest of Alano.
