OmuType
Best Android keyboard for Cantonese speakers
Pursuit Li
OmuType is an Android keyboard built for Hong Kong. Hold the mic and talk the way Hong Kong people actually talk, Cantonese with English in the middle, and it types the sentence in one go: English words stay English, Cantonese stays colloquial Cantonese, never Mandarin written forms and never Simplified characters.
Cantonese voice typing. When you finish speaking, OmuType listens to the whole sentence again and swaps only the words it misheard, in place: homophones, names and brands. One tap undoes it.
Say the fix. Say "not Mandy, Wendy" (唔係 Mandy，係 Wendy) and only that name changes. "Shorter", "in English", "more polite" and "send it" work too.
✦ AI check. Tap ✦ and AI reads the sentence at your cursor the way the recipient will, fixing what makes no sense while keeping your tone, your Cantonese and your English.
Every way Hong Kong types. Lazy Jyutping without tones (tinlau gives 填漏), Cangjie and Quick with radicals on the keys, and Stroke input for anyone who doesn't use either. English candidates sit in the same row as Chinese, spaces between Chinese and English are added for you, and English autocorrect catches missed spaces.
Keywords. Add the names, companies and products you say most, and voice typing matches them by sound: 卡神 comes out as Kason.
Also. Swipe left to delete word by word; swipe right to put it back. Emoji suggestions for the sentence you're writing. Adjustable keyboard height. Follows your phone's light and dark mode.
Privacy. Typing is processed on your phone and works offline. Voice and AI features send only the recording or nearby text needed, and our servers keep no recordings or content. No mic and no AI in password fields. No account, no ads, no tracking.
Price. Typing is free with no limits. Voice typing includes 10 free minutes a week, reset every Monday.
Requires Android 10 or later. For users 18 and over. Made by Alano Tech Pte. Ltd.
