# Update Task & Mention Teammates

Task updates allow you to keep everyone aligned by posting progress updates, comments, or mentions directly inside a task.

You can use task comments to share status updates or notify teammates using mentions.

## How it works

Open a task you want to update

Scroll to the comment or update section

Enter your task update or status message

Use @ to mention a team member

Post the update

The mentioned user will receive a notification.

Mentioned @ in tasks.mp4

## Mentions & notifications

Using @username will notify the selected team member

By default, the task creator is notified of updates

Mentions are useful for reminders, follow-ups, or approvals

## When to use task updates

Share progress or changes on a task

Ask for input or confirmation

Notify teammates about next steps

Task updates work like a lightweight internal discussion thread, keeping communication contextual and easy to track.
